Established in 1958. Now is a unit of Faculty of Radioengineering, Electronics and Physics

Department provides the following

Bachelor degree programs:
- 210300 - "Radioengineering";

Engineer (Specialist) degree programs:
- 210302 - "Radioengineering"
- 210303 - "Consumer radioelectronic devices"
- 210405 - "Radio communication, broadcasting and TV",

Master degree programs
- 552500 - "Radioengineering",

Master degree programs:
- 552502 - "Systems and devices of signals transmitting, receiving and processing;
- 552504 - "Microwave technics and antennas".

Also department takes part in preparation on the following Engineer degree programs:
- 201000 - "Multichannel Telecommunication systems",
- 201200 - "Communication with mobile objects".

Department emploees - 21 teacher, including 5 doctors os science and 12 candidates of science.

Department includes Radioengineering Devices R&D laboratory (NIL RTU) where research and development on modern radioengineering devices and systems have been conducted. Laboratory staff consists of 30 people.

Department has close relations with enterprises and research institutions in the field of radioelectronics of Novosibirsk, which are interested in specialists preparation. At these enterprises and research institutions students have practical training. Some of students who want to devote themselves to reseach, have training at NIL RTU. As a rule they can be considered as candidates for Master degree students. Beginning from the 3rd year of study many students cooperate with organizations and companies, which work in the sphere of their future speciality. Graduates of the department can easily find job. They successfully work all aaround the Siberian region from the Ural till Far East as well as abroad.

Lecture rooms and laboratories of the department are situated on the 4th and 5th floors of the IV-th building of NSTU.
